Next tie 18-20 September 2015
Brazil face a World Group play-off after their 5th rubber defeat to Argentina in the World Group first round. They will find out their opponents when the draw takes place on 21 July.
Last tie 6-8 March 2015
Brazil suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to neighbours and fierce rivals Argentina in the World Group first round in a tie that lasted over 19 hours, the fourth-longest in Davis Cup history. The tie also featured the longest singles rubber in Davis Cup history, but it is not one that Brazil will remember fondly, with Joao Souza fighting back from 2 sets down to no avail, losing 15-13 in the fifth set. Having led 2-1 after the doubles, Brazil lost both reverse singles rubbers and the tie.
Brazil is a two-time semifinalist, having reached the last four in 1992 and 2000. Prior to the creation of the World Group in 1981, it reached the Inter Zonal Final - the round before the Challenge Round - in both 1966 and 1971.
